Due to continued growth, we are seeking an experienced Rigid Truck Driver to join our team.
The Rigid Truck Driver supports M&E engineering operations by safely transporting materials and equipment to sites using a company vehicle. The role also involves assisting with general construction site and workshop activities to ensure projects run efficiently and safely.
Key Responsibilities and Duties
- Safely operate a company rigid truck (Category C) transporting M&E materials, tools, plant, and equipment to and from construction sites, suppliers, and depots
- Carry out local and regional driving in accordance with road traffic laws.
- Complete daily vehicle checks and report defects in line with company procedures
- Secure loads correctly and ensure compliance with load restraint and weight regulations
- Maintain delivery documentation, tachograph records, and basic transport paperwork
- Load and unload materials manually or using mechanical aids
- Assist mechanical and electrical teams with general site support duties
- Distribute materials, pipework, containment, and equipment on active construction sites
- Follow site-specific health, safety, and environmental procedures always
- Maintain a tidy, safe working environment in vehicles, workshops, and on site
- Represent the company professionally when attending client sites
Key Skills and Competencies
- Full Irish driving licence – Category C
- Valid safe pass & manual handling
- Valid digital tachograph driver card
- Previous experience operating rigid trucks within construction, engineering, industrial, or logistics environments.
- Strong awareness of safety and safe systems of work
- Reliable, organised, and flexible
