Title: Experienced Freight Forwarder Location: Dublin 9 Terms: Full-time, Permanent, Office-based Package: €50,000 negotiable DOE Dublin 9-based freight forwarder now seeks a Freight Forwarding Clerk to join their operations team. The company offers freight forwarding services and represents several shipping lines, as well as being an active member of a large worldwide freight alliance. They offer a variety of cargo services to all major ports worldwide.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

Coordinate and manage cargo shipments via road, air, and sea freight, including LCL and FCL movements. Arrange and oversee worldwide air, LCL, FCL, and road shipments from origin through to final delivery. Organise, handle, and process all logistics and customs documentation, including HAWB, MAWB, commercial documents, customs SADs, and other regulatory paperwork. Communicate and negotiate effectively with overseas agents, clients, suppliers, and internal teams. Operate efficiently in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment while maintaining service quality. Source competitive freight rates and prepare ad hoc quotations using own initiative. Plan and coordinate customer deliveries and collections, ensuring accurate track-and-trace updates. Manage all financial aspects of assigned shipments, including raising purchase orders and accruals, processing supplier invoices, and issuing customer invoices. Ensure accuracy and attention to detail across all shipment and documentation processes. Maintain compliance with industry regulations, customs requirements, and company procedures. Utilise freight management systems and logistics software to manage operations. Demonstrate high-level written and verbal communication in English across all business correspondence. Organise workload effectively, managing time and priorities to meet operational deadlines. Collaborate within a team environment while also working independently when required

Essential Requirements

At least 3 years of relevant Air Freight or Sea Freight experience within the local market. Excellent computer skills Excellent problem-solving, planning & organising skills. Excellent communication/telephone skills. Strong Customer Service & Administrative skills. Proficient in Microsoft Office and any freight management system.
