About this role

Category Manager – Dublin Dublin/ Hybrid – Island of Ireland Travel Attractive Salary + Bonus + Car/ Car Allowance + Excellent Benefits Abrivia Recruitment is delighted to be partnering with a leading organisation within the builders’ merchant and construction supplies sector to recruit a Category Manager for a key role covering the island of Ireland. This is a genuine buying/ category management position with responsibility for managing product categories, developing supplier relationships, optimising stock and inventory levels and driving commercial performance across a large, multi-site business. Please note: this is not a Sales or Business Development role. We are specifically looking for candidates with hands-on experience in Buying, Procurement or Category Management.

Key Responsibilities

Manage and develop assigned product categories across the island of Ireland Build and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers Negotiate pricing, commercial terms and supplier agreements Manage stock and inventory levels across multiple locations Analyse category performance, margins, pricing and market trends Identify opportunities for new products, suppliers and range development Support category strategy and wider commercial growth plans Forecast and manage budgets effectively Work closely with Sales, Operations, Logistics and other internal teams Support new product sourcing and supply chain activity Attend supplier meetings, trade shows and industry events as required

What We’re Looking For

3+ years’ experience in Buying, Procurement or Category Management Strong supplier management and negotiation experience Experience managing product ranges, pricing, margins, stock and inventory Strong commercial and analytical skills Experience within building materials, builders’ merchants, construction supplies, retail, wholesale, distribution or another product-led environment would be highly relevant Strong Excel and reporting skills Comfortable working within a fast-paced, multi-site organisation Flexibility to travel across the island of Ireland when required The successful candidate will join a strong, established organisation offering a performance-related bonus, company car or car allowance, pension, healthcare contribution and excellent long-term career opportunities.
