About this role
Our clients are presently recruiting a Chartered Engineer to join a multidisciplinary civil and structural engineering team based in Macroom, County Cork. The successful candidate will play a key role in leading the design, coordination, and delivery of a wide range of civil & Structural engineering projects across commercial, industrial, and public sector developments. This role requires a high level of technical expertise, leadership capability, and the ability to take responsibility for project outcomes from concept through to completion. This is a permanent position, with office and site based work required, mainly in County Cork. Key Responsibilities Lead the design and technical delivery of civil engineering projects, including roads, drainage, and infrastructure systems Review, approve, and sign off on engineering drawings, calculations, and technical reports Manage projects from feasibility through planning, design, and construction stages Act as the primary point of contact for clients, contractors, and stakeholders Ensure all work complies with relevant Irish standards, regulations, and best practices Undertake and oversee site visits, inspections, and progress assessments Mentor and support junior engineers and graduates within the team Contribute to business development, including preparing tenders and proposals Monitor project budgets, timelines, and resource allocation Ensure adherence to health, safety, and environmental requirements Requirements Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering (Level 8 or higher) Chartered Engineer status (CEng), accredited by Engineers Ireland Minimum 5–10 years’ relevant post-graduate experience Strong technical knowledge of civil / structural engineering design and project delivery Experience managing projects and coordinating multidisciplinary teams Proficiency in industry-standard software (e.g., AutoCAD, Civil 3D, drainage design tools) Full, clean driving license
