Following a planned leadership succession, an exceptional opportunity has arisen for a Chief Operating Officer to join the executive leadership team and play a defining role in the next phase of the company's growth and evolution. Reporting directly to the CEO, the COO will lead operational performance across a large company-owned estate, driving customer experience, commercial performance, leadership capability and operational excellence at scale. The Opportunity This is a significant executive leadership appointment for an accomplished business leader who combines strategic thinking, commercial acumen and operational excellence. Working in close partnership with the CEO and executive leadership team, the COO will take ownership of the performance and continued development of Insomnia's company-owned estate, ensuring the business has the leadership capability, operational disciplines and scalable structures required to support its next phase of growth. The successful candidate will be commercially driven and strategically capable, while remaining close enough to the operation to understand what drives performance at store and customer level. The Mandate

The COO will

Lead operational and commercial performance across the company-owned estate. Develop, coach and empower a high-performing senior operations leadership team. Drive continuous improvement across customer experience, productivity, profitability and operational standards. Translate business strategy into clear operational priorities and measurable results. Ensure operational structures, systems and processes can successfully support continued estate growth. Work cross-functionally with the wider executive team across people, finance, technology, marketing, property and commercial initiatives. Maintain the pace, agility and entrepreneurial culture that have been central to Insomnia's success. The Executive We're Looking For We are interested in speaking with senior executives who have successfully led large-scale, multi-site, consumer-facing operations and can demonstrate a combination of strategic, commercial and operational leadership. You may currently be operating as a Chief Operating Officer, Managing Director, Country Director, Operations Director, Retail Director or in a similarly senior leadership position. Relevant experience is likely to have been gained within coffee and café businesses, QSR, food-to-go, branded hospitality, foodservice, convenience or forecourt retail, or another fast-paced multi-site consumer environment.

Critically, you will be able to demonstrate

Leadership of significant multi-site operations through senior regional or operational management structures. Meaningful P&L and commercial accountability. A track record of improving business performance, profitability and customer experience. Experience developing strong leadership teams and creating accountability through people rather than micromanagement. Evidence of successfully leading growth, change, transformation or estate development. The ability to operate strategically at executive level while maintaining strong operational credibility. The judgement and pace required to succeed within an entrepreneurial, growth-focused organisation. Why Insomnia?
