Job Title: Data Centre Technician (Not Live – Building Candidate Pipeline) Type: Contract – 3–6 Months Locations: West, South, and North Dublin Salary: €32,000 per annum About the Role We at Gempool are looking for a skilled Data Centre Technician to join our client’s team around Dublin on a 3–6 month contract. This role involves supporting mission-critical infrastructure, maintaining hardware, and ensuring smooth data centre operations in a fast-paced environment. Key Responsibilities Install, configure, and maintain servers, network devices, and storage solutions. Diagnose and repair hardware issues (servers, racks, cabling, power units). Perform routine system health checks and escalate issues when necessary. Manage infrastructure cabling, including fiber optics and copper connections. Maintain asset tracking and inventory records. Support data centre deployments and work closely with engineers and operations teams. Adhere to safety, security, and compliance protocols within the data centre environment. Skills & Experience Required Hands-on experience with IT hardware (servers, storage, and networking equipment). Strong troubleshooting skills for diagnosing hardware and connectivity issues. Knowledge of data centre infrastructure, including power distribution and cooling systems. Experience with cable management (structured cabling, fiber optics, and patch panels). Familiarity with Linux and Windows operating systems is a plus. Ability to work in a physically demanding environment (lifting equipment, working in confined spaces). Excellent teamwork and communication skills. Flexibility to work shifts, including weekends and on-call rotations. CompTIA A+ or similar certification is a plus.
