About this role
Our client, a design and build fit-out contractor, is seeking a Design Coordinator to join their team on a permanent basis, based in Meath. The design team operates fully externally, so this role sits at the centre of the process, coordinating consultants, the in-house draughtsperson, sub-contractors and site teams to keep design information moving accurately and on schedule, from preconstruction through to project close-out. The successful candidate will bring experience managing external consultants and technical submittals within a structured document-control environment.Key ResponsibilitiesCoordinate the flow of technical and design information across projects, from preconstruction through to close-out.Manage Letter of Intent (LOI) submittals, gathering the suite of pre-contract documents required at LOI stage.Collect and issue technical submittals at the start of the design process, including construction details, test reports and materials data.Coordinate fire safety certification, civils design and related inputs from the external design team.Act as the day-to-day point of contact for external architects, engineers and specialist consultants, scheduling and tracking their deliverables against programme.Monitor consultant progress through weekly meetings and follow-up as needed.Coordinate with the in-house draughtsperson on live projects.Manage document flow between designers, consultants, sub-contractors and site teams, ensuring design information is issued and technical submittals are collected back.Prepare BCAR closing files and the project safety file at project close-out, collecting certs from sub-contractors and consultants for issue to the assigned certifier.RequirementsDegree in Architectural Technology, Construction Management, Building Surveying, or Civil or Structural Engineering.Experience coordinating external consultants, chasing, tracking and progressing inputs from architects, engineers or specialist consultants, rather than producing that design output directly.Experience operating within a structured document-control process.Proven ability to keep multiple parties on schedule without direct line authority over them.Familiarity with the BCAR (Building Control (Amendment) Regulations) process and the assigned certifier role, and experience compiling project safety files, would be an advantage.Why Apply with Sonas?Expertise: Specialists in Engineering and Technical talent solutionsMarket Insights: Access to the best salaries, rates and benefits on offerDirect Connections: We ensure your CV gets noticed by the right hiring managersSeamless Process: One point of contact for applications, interviews and negotiationsFor more information or to apply directly email [email protected] or apply directly on Indeed.SONCATA
