Electrical Project EngineerOur client is seeking an Electrical Project Engineer to join their growing engineering team based in Kilkenny, delivering complex industrial projects across the pharmaceutical, food & beverage, and medical device sectors. The role is primarily office-based in Kilkenny but will require regular travel to client sites across Ireland. This is an excellent opportunity to work on high-value turnkey projects from concept through to commissioning and handover. The successful candidate will bring strong electrical engineering expertise, project delivery experience, and the ability to coordinate multidisciplinary teams in regulated industrial environments.ResponsibilitiesLead the electrical engineering scope of projects from initial design through to commissioning and client handover.Develop and manage project programmes, budgets, and resource plans in collaboration with project stakeholders.Prepare and review electrical design documentation including single-line diagrams, schematics, cable schedules, and equipment layouts.Manage the procurement of electrical equipment, instrumentation, switchgear, and associated materials.Coordinate with mechanical and automation teams to ensure successful integration of electrical systems.Supervise electrical installation activities on site, ensuring compliance with project specifications, safety standards, and schedules.Lead commissioning activities including testing, troubleshooting, client witness testing, and final handover documentation.Ensure compliance with relevant Irish and European electrical standards as well as GMP and quality requirements.Act as the primary electrical engineering contact for clients, attending meetings, providing technical support, and managing project variations.RequirementsDegree qualification in Electrical Engineering, Electrical & Electronic Engineering, or a related discipline.Minimum 4 years' experience in an industrial project engineering or electrical engineering role.Proven experience delivering electrical scope on pharmaceutical, manufacturing, food & beverage, or medical device projects.Strong knowledge of Irish and European electrical regulations and standards including ETCI and IEC requirements.Experience preparing and reviewing electrical design documentation and managing installation and commissioning activities.Full clean Irish driving licence and willingness to travel to project sites as required.Why Apply with Sonas?Expertise: Specialists in Engineering and Technical talent solutions.Market Insights: Access to the best salaries, rates and benefits on offer.Direct Connections: We ensure your CV gets noticed by the right hiring managers.Seamless Process: One point of contact for applications, interviews and negotiations.To apply, send your CV to [email protected] or apply via Indeed.
