About this role
CREGG are looking for General Operatives, for full time, long term work in Oranmore, Co. Galway. Our client is a metal manufacturing company, looking to add a full time staff member to their production team. We are looking for candidates who are mechanical minded, with passion for working with machines and are good at problem solving.
Job description – General Operative
Machine Operation: Operate and set up workshop tools such as press brakes, guillotines, plasma cutters, and saws. Production Work: Fabricate and assemble steel components according to technical drawings. Quality Control: Inspect finished components for accuracy, ensuring measurements meet specifications, and that products are free of defects. Maintenance & Safety: Perform daily maintenance on machinery, troubleshoot minor faults, and adhere strictly to health and safety regulations. Material Handling: Load and unload raw materials and finished products using overhead cranes or hoists. Documentation: Complete production logs and quality reports, often using computer systems.
Hours of work
43 hours per week Monday to Friday 07:00 – 17:00 (early finish on Friday)
Rate of Pay
€16.63 per hour
Job requirements – General Operative
Previous experience working in engineering/mechanical industry (min 1 year). Good knowledge of machines, tools, etc. Excellent attention to details and good problem-solving skills. Excellent hand-eye coordination and dexterity.
Contract type
