About this role

CREGG are delighted to be working with our client in hiring a General Operative, in Mallow, Co. Cork. This is a full-time role, 3 month contract with the view to permanency. Pay Rate – €16.58hr

Hours of work

2 shift cycle Day shift – 6am – 4pm Evening Shift – 2pm – 12 midnight (X4) 10 hr shifts over Monday to Friday with 1 day off within the week. Over time is required – Please be advised this could be over weekends also. The General Operative is responsible for supporting the safe, efficient, and high-quality production of pigment & Paint products. The role involves operating production equipment, monitoring production processes, maintaining accurate records, packaging finished goods, and ensuring compliance with quality, safety, and environmental standards. The successful candidate will contribute to achieving production targets while maintaining a clean, organised, and safe working environment

Key Responsibilities

Production Operations Operate production machinery and equipment in accordance with company procedures (training provided). Follow production schedules and work instructions to meet daily output targets. Monitor production processes to ensure products are manufactured to the required specifications. Report any equipment faults, process deviations, or quality concerns promptly. Quality Control Produce products that consistently meet company quality standards. Monitor product quantities and record production data accurately. Fill and package products within prescribed tolerances and specifications. Carry out visual inspections and quality checks throughout the production process. Ensure all documentation is completed accurately and in a timely manner. Health, Safety & Environment Adhere to all company Health & Safety policies and procedures. Use personal protective equipment (PPE) correctly and at all times when required. Maintain safe working practices and identify potential hazards. Report accidents, incidents, near misses, or unsafe conditions immediately. Support the company's environmental and waste-management procedures. Housekeeping & Maintenance Maintain a clean, organised, and efficient work area. Assist in routine equipment cleaning and basic maintenance activities. Ensure equipment is kept in good working order and any issues are reported promptly. Follow housekeeping standards to support operational efficiency and workplace safety. Teamwork & Communication Work collaboratively with colleagues across all departments. Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members regarding production progress and issues. Support continuous improvement initiatives within the production area. Inform management of any work-related concerns or issues affecting performance or safety. Essential Skills Good attention to detail and accuracy. Ability to follow written and verbal instructions. Strong concentration and focus in a production environment. Good organisational and time-management skills. Ability to work effectively as part of a team. Good communication skills. Basic numerical and record-keeping abilities. Desirable Skills Previous manufacturing or production experience. Experience operating industrial machinery. Knowledge of quality control procedures.
