Title: European Road Freight Forwarder Location: Kildare Terms Full-time, Perm, Office-Based Package: €45,000 - €50,000 Our client, a well-established freight forwarding company, is seeking a Road Freight Import Operator to manage the end-to-end coordination of import and export road freight movements across Europe. You'll work closely with carriers, overseas partners, customers, and internal teams to deliver a high-quality freight forwarding service keeping shipments accurate, compliant, and moving on time. This is a great opportunity for someone who's commercially minded, proactive, and thrives on solving problems before they become issues. Responsibilities Manage the end-to-end operation of European road freight import and export shipments Coordinate with customers, carriers, overseas agents, and internal departments to ensure timely freight movement Monitor shipment progress and proactively manage delays, exceptions, and service issues Maintain accurate, up-to-date shipment records in company systems Ensure all activities comply with company procedures, transport regulations, and customer requirements Deliver excellent customer service and manage customer expectations Monitor costs and profitability, delivering services in a commercially responsible way Negotiate rates and service terms with carriers and suppliers where required Provide regular updates and reporting on operational performance and shipment status Identify opportunities to promote additional services and support business growth Escalate operational or commercial concerns to management in a timely manner Support continuous improvement initiatives within the road freight operation Requirements Strong knowledge of European road freight import and export operations Excellent customer service and relationship management skills Commercial awareness, with the ability to spot cost-saving and profit opportunities Strong planning, organisation, and time management skills High attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy Ability to manage multiple shipments and competing priorities in a fast-paced environment Proactive problem-solving and sound decision-making Strong verbal and written communication skills Negotiation and influencing skills with carriers, suppliers, and partners Sound understanding of freight forwarding systems and operational processes Financial awareness — understanding of costs, margins, and profitability Resilience and adaptability in a changing operational environment For a confidential conversation about this opportunity or others in the market, please contact Nathan Browne IAC-Aug26
