An established structural steel contractor is seeking a Junior Project Manager to join its growing team based in Kilkenny. This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious professional with 2–4 years’ experience to develop their career while working on national projects, including data centre and pharmaceutical developments. The role is primarily office-based, with some travel to project sites as required, and reports directly to a Contracts Manager.Key ResponsibilitiesAssist in managing structural steel projects from contract award through to completion, working closely with and under the guidance of the Contracts Manager.Support the preparation and updating of project programmes, schedules, and progress reports.Coordinate with internal departments including design, detailing, fabrication, and erection teams.Liaise with clients, engineers, architects, subcontractors, and site personnel to ensure smooth project delivery.Assist in monitoring site activities, including steel erection, ensuring compliance with health and safety requirements.Support cost control and budget tracking in conjunction with commercial and quantity surveying teams.Attend and contribute to project meetings, progress reviews, and reporting to senior management.Assist in maintaining quality control standards throughout the project lifecycle.Identify potential project risks and support the development of mitigation measures.Preferred Requirements2–4 years’ experience within a structural engineering discipline or in a project management / engineering role within construction.Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related discipline (Structural Engineering degree preferred).Experience within the structural steel industry is an advantage but not required.Strong organisational and communication skills with the ability to work as part of a project team.A strong determination to learn, develop, and progress within a project management career.Full driving licence and willingness to travel to project sites as required.Why Apply with Sonas?Expertise: Specialists in Engineering and Technical talent solutions.Market Insights: Access to the best salaries, rates, and benefits on offer.Direct Connections: We ensure your CV gets noticed by the right hiring managers.Seamless Process: One point of contact for applications, interviews, and negotiations.For more information or to apply directly, email [email protected] or apply directly on Indeed.
