Our client, a leading Civil & Industrial contractor, is seeking a Mechanical Project Engineer to join their team in Dundalk. This role sits within a multi-disciplinary engineering team delivering a water/wastewater infrastructure project from design through to construction and handover. The successful candidate will bring solid mechanical/electrical contracting experience and strong organisational and coordination skills to keep engineering delivery on track.ResponsibilitiesManage engineering requirements and liaise with key project stakeholders, including the client design team, main contractor, suppliers and sub-contractors.Review design and IFC specifications and drawings to fully understand the scope of works.Oversee the coordination process, converting design information into full installation drawings with BIM personnel, ensuring spec compliance and adherence to schedule priorities.Track the project schedule to ensure engineering activities do not cause delays.Manage technical submittals and approvals.Ensure works are installed in line with project specifications and the Project QA plan, including pre-agreed benchmarking.Liaise with sub-contractors to maintain information flow and keep works on schedule, attending weekly progress meetings.Evaluate and promote new engineering practices to improve delivery time, and prepare project completion criteria and close-out documents.Prepare sub-contract and supplier tender packages with the Project QS, and manage the work packs process and BIM priorities, including isometrics generation and release.
