Occupational Therapist – Adult Primary Care The OT will provide a high-quality Occupational Therapy service as part of the multidisciplinary Primary Care Team, supporting adults within the Laois/Offaly area. The post holder will deliver person-centred, evidence-based interventions that promote independence, wellbeing, and participation in meaningful daily activities within community settings. I will accept applications from Staff and Senior grades. Responsibilities of Occupational Therapist – Adult Primary Care Manage a caseload of adult clients with a broad range of physical, functional, and psychosocial needs within Primary Care. Carry out comprehensive assessments and develop collaborative, goal-oriented intervention plans. Provide therapy interventions in clients’ homes, clinics, and community settings. Support clients with self-management, equipment provision, environmental adaptations, and rehabilitation programmes. Liaise with GPs, nurses, physiotherapists, speech and language therapists, social workers, and other team members to deliver integrated care. Contribute to health promotion and prevention initiatives within the adult population. Maintain accurate, up-to-date clinical records in line with HSE policies and professional standards. Provide supervision and support to junior staff, students, and therapy assistants as appropriate. Participate in continuous professional development (CPD) and quality improvement initiatives. Keep abreast of current evidence-based practice and relevant legislation. Contribute to service planning, development, and audit activities. Ensure compliance with data protection, health and safety, and other relevant HSE policies. Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and case conferences. Requirements of Occupational Therapist – Adult Primary Care Hold a qualification approved by the Occupational Therapists Registration Board at CORU. Be registered, or eligible for registration, on the Occupational Therapists Register maintained by CORU. Have at least 3 years post-qualification experience if Senior Occupational Therapist, with relevant experience in adult primary care, community, or physical disability services desirable Staff OT open on experience level Full, clean driver’s licence and access to own transport essential. #MEDAHP
