About this role

CREGG are hiring for a Production Manager to join a leading Electronic Engineering Company in Tuam Co.Galway Apply now or email [email protected] for more information The Production Manager will oversee all day to day operations within our production workshop. They will be responsible for leading and developing the team, managing performance, and driving continuous improvement. They will ensure the highest levels of quality are maintained while achieving timely completion of projects in line with agreed schedules. They will collaborate with our design and sales engineers as well as provide management with daily reporting and feedback.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Operations –

  • Manage and oversee the daily activities of a team of electrical panel builders.
  • Be responsible for ensuring the highest levels of quality are maintained, test procedures are adhered to and compliance documentation is completed and archived for every project.
  • Oversee customer attended Factory acceptance testing of assemblies. Ensure FAT documentation and procedures are completed and adhered to.
  • Deliver projects in line with customer timelines and production schedules.
  • Ensure a clean and organised workshop is maintained at all times.
  • Identify opportunities to streamline production processes and improve operational efficiency.
  • Provide daily reporting and feedback to management – hours logged by team members against projects, project progress against schedules, milestones achieved, any issues arising.
  • Organise and manage weekly production schedule meetings.
  • Liaise and build key relationship with suppliers, customers, service providers as required.
  • Ensuring goods inwards/outwards, including loading/unloading, inspection, verification of documentation, and accurate system entry is managed accurately.
  • Work closely with our design team and provide feedback from the production floor.

People

  • Lead and manage the daily activities of the team. Provide direction and guidance in managing their daily work priorities.
  • Ensure technical, constructional and project related queries from team members are addressed.
  • Effectively manage deadlines and act as the central point of contact for all team queries.
  • Ensure training and supervision of new and existing members of the team is provided.
  • Ensuring team members work in line with procedures and policies.
  • Complete performance reviews with team members.
  • Plan rotas and manage attendance/holidays.
  • Manage grievance and disciplinary procedures if the need were to arise.
  • Be involved in the hiring and interview process of new members.

General

  • To always act in a professional and respectful manner with everyone inside and outside of the Company.
  • Maintain and ensure compliance with Company and legislative health & safety requirements.
  • Control workshop costs and budgets.
  • Ensure workshop equipment and tools are in working order. Ensure maintenance procedures are carried out.

EXPERIENCE / BACKGROUND

  • Be a qualified electrician or hold a qualification in a relevant electrical/mechatronics discipline.
  • Must have a minimum of 3-5 years of experience in leading and developing a team.
  • Must have an exceptional eye for detail with excellent organisational and problem-solving skills. Must be able to analyse current work methods and derive improved procedures.
  • Must have the ability to read and interpret electrical wiring schematics.
  • Previous experience in a technical/hands-on role and working with electrical control equipment is beneficial.
  • Knowledge of PLC systems – Siemens, Schneider Electric, Allen Bradley beneficial but not essential.
  • Must have a good ability to work with computers. Must be able to use standard MS office applications – word, excel etc.
  • Must be hardworking, reliable, honest and a good timekeeper.
  • Must have excellent communication skills and must be fluent in both written and verbal English.
  • Must have a full driver's license.
  • Must have legal right to work in Ireland
