The Client
Our client, a leading banks in Ireland, is looking for a highly motivated and experienced Senior DevOps & Automation Engineer to work in Dublin, Ireland.

What you are expected to have
10+ years of experience in DevOps, Automation Engineering, Platform Engineering, or a related role. 5+ years of experience supporting enterprise applications or platforms. Strong hands-on experience with Ansible, Terraform, and Python scripting. Proven expertise in Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform. Experience with Git, GitHub, or GitLab and branching workflows. Hands-on experience with Jenkins pipeline administration and development. Strong Linux administration skills (Windows knowledge is an advantage). Demonstrated expertise in troubleshooting complex deployment and environment issues, with strong root cause analysis skills. Experience with release and deployment management practices. Experience with container platforms such as OpenShift, Kubernetes, or Amazon ECS. Experience working with cloud platforms, preferably AWS (Azure/GCP acceptable). Experience in enterprise-scale, regulated environments. Knowledge of monitoring, logging, and observability tools. Understanding of SSL/MTLS certificates and related technologies. Experience supporting critical production or pre-production environments. Proven ability to replace manual processes with automation. Ability to troubleshoot across application, middleware, network, and infrastructure layers. Strong communication, collaboration, and stakeholder management skills. Preferred Qualifications Experience within the financial services or other regulated sectors. Knowledge of security and compliance automation. Experience implementing or working with DORA (Digital Operational Resilience Act) metrics. Exposure to Agentic AI, AI-assisted automation, or Generative AI technologies is an advantage.
What you will do
Service Ownership Lead investigation of deployment failures and environment issues. Troubleshoot across application, middleware, operating system, network and infrastructure layers. Perform deep root-cause analysis and implement permanent corrective actions. Analyse pipeline failures, logs, monitoring data and infrastructure events. Support critical releases and major incidents. Ensure recurring issues are resolved through engineering improvements rather than operational workarounds. Automation & Engineering Design, build and maintain automation using Ansible, Python, Terraform and Jenkins. Systematically identify manual tasks and eliminate them. Build reusable, self-service capability so teams can unblock themselves. Drive Infrastructure as Code adoption across the pre-production and Proving estate. Automation & Continuous Improvement Partner with the existing SME to capture and automate manual processes. Share knowledge and promote automation best practices. Build trust through small, visible wins before large-scale change. Escalate constructively where adoption stalls; do not work around people. Engineering Excellence Improve monitoring, logging and operational visibility. Standardise deployment processes across platforms. Contribute to platform modernisation (OpenShift, containers, cloud). Improve documentation, operational procedures and service standards. Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across the service.
