Senior Engineer.

Our client, a leading civils and utilities contractor, is seeking an experienced Senior Engineer to join their team delivering a major 110kV high-voltage underground cable project connecting Ballina, Co Mayo to Ballaghaderreen, Co Roscommon. This permanent role will see you support the delivery of a new circuit for the national electricity transmission network, including associated substation works. The successful candidate will bring strong civil and utilities engineering experience and a proven track record on high-voltage or major linear infrastructure projects.Key ResponsibilitiesManage the day-to-day engineering delivery of underground cable installation works, ensuring compliance with design and specification.Support substation upgrade and extension works, liaising with the design team on technical queries.Prepare and review method statements, risk assessments and technical submittals for site activities.Coordinate with subcontractors, suppliers and utility bodies to ensure works progress to programme.Monitor quality control and inspection regimes across all cable laying and civil works.Track project progress against programme, flagging risks and delays to the Project Manager.Ensure all works are carried out in line with health, safety and environmental requirements.Liaise with landowners, local authorities and other stakeholders along the cable route.Maintain accurate site records, as-built drawings and progress reporting.RequirementsDegree in Civil, Electrical or Utilities Engineering, or equivalent industry experience.Minimum 5 years experience in a Senior Engineer role on major infrastructure, utilities or high-voltage cable projects.Experience with underground HV cable installation and/or substation works is highly advantageous.Strong knowledge of Irish construction and utilities standards.Full Irish driving licence.Why Apply with Sonas?Expertise: Specialists in Engineering and Technical talent solutionsMarket Insights: Access to the best salaries, rates and benefits on offerDirect Connections: We ensure your CV gets noticed by the right hiring managersSeamless Process: One point of contact for applications, interviews and negotiationsFor more information or to apply directly email [email protected] or apply directly on Indeed.
