Senior Physiotherapist – MSK – Outpatient The Staff Physiotherapist will deliver high-quality, evidence based physiotherapy services to adults in a rehabilitation setting. The role focuses on restoring functional independence, improving mobility, reducing fall risk, managing pain, and enhancing overall quality of life for residents transitioning from acute hospital care or managing chronic conditions. Responsibilities of Senior Physiotherapist –MSK – Outpatient Assess, diagnose, and develop individualised physiotherapy treatment plans for adults. Deliver rehabilitation programmes focusing on:Post-operative recovery (e.g., hip/knee replacements, Stroke rehabilitation, Falls prevention, Balance and mobility training and Strength and conditioning Respiratory rehabilitation (where appropriate) Conduct mobility assessments and prescribe appropriate walking aids. Implement falls risk assessments and prevention strategies. Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans accordingly. Maintain accurate and up-to-date clinical documentation in line with CORU and HIQA standards. Participate in case conferences and discharge planning meetings. Provide education and training to care staff on safe mobility and manual handling. Educate residents and families on rehabilitation goals and home exercise programmes. Promote independence and self-management strategies. Requirements of Senior Physiotherapist – Rehab BSc or MSc in Physiotherapy. CORU registration 3+ year Physiotherapy experience post qualification. MSK expereince in an outpatient department. Experience in geriatric rehabilitation, community care, or acute hospital setting. Strong knowledge of falls prevention and mobility rehabilitation.
