We are currently recruiting a Senior Speech & Language Therapist to join the Older Persons Residential Units based in an acute setting based in South Dublin. This is an excellent opportunity to work within a multidisciplinary team providing specialist Speech & Language Therapy services to older adults with complex communication and swallowing needs. You will play a key role in delivering person-centred care that enhances residents’ quality of life, promotes safe swallowing, and supports effective communication. The Role
As a Senior Speech & Language Therapist, you will
Assess, diagnose, and manage adults with communication, cognitive-communication, voice, and dysphagia disorders. Develop and implement evidence-based treatment plans to support residents with complex clinical needs. Work closely with GPs, Nurses, Dietitians, Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapists, and other members of the multidisciplinary team. Provide specialist advice on dysphagia management, texture-modified diets, and safe swallowing practices. Deliver education and training to healthcare staff, residents, and families. Provide clinical leadership, supervision, and support to junior staff and students where appropriate. Maintain accurate clinical documentation and contribute to service development and quality improvement initiatives. Requirements Recognised qualification in Speech & Language Therapy. CORU registration. A minimum of three years’ post-qualification clinical experience. Experience working with adult dysphagia and older persons is highly desirable. Excellent communication, leadership, and organisational skills. Full driver’s licence and access to a car is desirable. What’s on Offer? HSE salary scale.
