The Role As a Team Lead for Application Security, you'll combine deep engineering expertise with a passion for developing high-performing teams. In an agile, cloud-first environment, you'll set technical standards, influence strategic decisions, and deliver enterprise-scale application security solutions that help keep the organization secure. You'll mentor engineers and analysts to design and implement secure, scalable systems that enable innovation while protecting customers and business assets. This is an excellent opportunity to shape the future of secure engineering at scale. Key Responsibilities Team Leadership & Growth Define and drive team strategy, roadmap, and vision. Mentor and develop engineers and analysts, fostering technical growth and professional development. Manage workforce planning and performance goals aligned with business priorities. Delivery & Execution Demonstrate excellent organizational and planning skills, with the ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously. Define and own the product and technical roadmap and long-term vision. Be accountable for delivering the roadmap, clearly articulating the milestones and evolutionary steps required to achieve the overall vision. Collaborate with stakeholders to deliver impactful, customer-focused outcomes. Engineering Excellence Drive Secure Software Development Lifecycle (Secure SDLC) adoption, including secrets management, Static Application Security Testing (SAST), Software Composition Analysis (SCA), and Dynamic Application Security Testing (DAST), where appropriate. Improve automation, test coverage, release velocity, and production health. Establish and enforce technical standards through architecture guidance, code reviews, and engineering best practices. Strategic Influence & Stakeholder Management Partner with leaders across engineering, business, and operations to align on application security priorities. Drive data-informed decisions regarding trade-offs, capacity planning, and risk management. Communicate effectively with technical and business stakeholders, providing clear updates on progress, risks, blockers, and outcomes. Continuous Improvement & Thought Leadership Stay current with emerging security threats, technologies, tools, and frameworks. Foster a culture of continuous improvement through metrics, retrospectives, knowledge sharing, and ongoing education. Required Skills & Experience 12+ years of experience in Information Technology, including 5+ years in people and technical leadership. Proven track record of delivering scalable, cloud-native software solutions using Secure SDLC practices. Strong foundation in systems architecture, software development lifecycle (SDLC), Agile methodologies, AWS, and DevSecOps. Data-driven mindset with experience using metrics and analytics to guide strategic decisions. Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and cross-functional collaboration skills. Demonstrated passion for coaching and developing both junior and senior team members. Experience defining strategic vision and successfully delivering against technology roadmaps. Hands-on experience with application security tools such as secrets scanning, SAST, DAST, and SCA is highly desirable.
