Planning Support / Trainee Planner Location: Cork Industry: Transport & Logistics (Specialist ADR/Hazardous Materials)

Working Pattern

Initial Monday–Friday Office based After Training The business is moving towards a seven-day operation to support customer demand.

The role will become roster-based and is likely to include

Early shifts Afternoon/evening shifts (possibly finishing around 9pm) Weekend work Shift Pattern still to be finalised Overview Our client is a rapidly growing transport and logistics business that is restructuring its planning function. They are creating a new Planning Support (Trainee Planner) role to strengthen the planning team and develop future planners and transport leaders. This is a genuine career opportunity rather than simply an entry-level position. The Role The Planning Support person acts as the operational support behind the planning team. Initially, they won’t be responsible for allocating work themselves. Instead, they’ll ensure the daily transport operation runs smoothly by: Supporting experienced transport planners Monitoring transport operations throughout the day Ensuring jobs are progressing as planned Assisting with driver coordination Escalating issues when necessary Helping maintain smooth day-to-day operations Over time they’ll be trained into a full planning role. Ideal Candidate The client is much more interested in attitude and potential than direct planning experience.
