About this role
CREGG are looking for a Welder for full time, long term work in Oranmore, Co. Galway. Our client is a metal manufacturing company, looking to add a full time staff member to their production team. We are looking for a person who is mechanical minded, with good understanding of welding/fabricating and thrives in engineering/manufacturing environment.
Job description
Steel Welding & Fabrication — carry out MIG/TIG/ARC welding on structural and steel components to required specifications Assembly — prepare, align, clamp, and assemble steel parts prior to welding Blueprint Interpretation — work from drawings, measurements, and fabrication plans to produce accurate builds Quality & Inspection — perform visual checks, ensure weld integrity, and complete rework where required Workshop Operations — operate grinders, saws, torches, and other fabrication tools while maintaining a safe, tidy work area
Hours of work
43 hours per week Monday to Friday 07:00 – 17:00 (early finish on Friday, at 15:00)
Rate of Pay
€18.00 per hour
Job requirements – Welder
Blueprint Reading — ability to interpret technical drawings and fabrication specs Steel Fabrication Skills — competent in cutting, grinding, measuring, and preparing materials Weld Quality Standards — ability to produce clean, structurally sound welds with minimal rework Safety Compliance — strong understanding of PPE and workshop safety Equipment Operation — experience with welders, grinders, plasma cutters, and fabrication tools Physical Capability — able to lift materials, work in confined spaces, and stand for extended periods Workmanship Accuracy — ability to work to tight tolerances and verify measurements
