About this role
Our Kerry based clients are presently recruiting for a Xero Accountant / Bookkeeper. You will be responsible for managing end-to-end bookkeeping processes for a diverse portfolio of SME clients using cloud-based accounting systems, primarily Xero. The role focuses on maintaining accurate financial records, ensuring compliance with Revenue requirements, and supporting the preparation of management accounts and year-end financial statements within a busy practice environment. This position can be based in either Killarney or Tralee and is a permanent position. Key Responsibilities Maintain and update client accounts using Xero accounting software Process sales and purchase invoices, bank transactions, and credit card statements Perform regular bank reconciliations and ledger reconciliations Maintain accurate nominal ledger coding and chart of accounts structures Manage accruals, prepayments, and journal entries as required Prepare and submit VAT returns via Revenue Online Service (ROS), Ensure compliance with Irish Revenue regulations Assist with payroll-related postings where applicable Assist in the preparation of monthly and quarterly management accounts Generate reports including P&L, balance sheet, and cash flow summaries Provide basic support and training to clients on Xero usage where required Essential Requirements Minimum 2 years’ experience in an accountancy practice Strong working knowledge of Xero accounting software (essential) Good understanding of Irish VAT and basic tax compliance Strong numerical accuracy and attention to detail Accounting technician qualification (ATI), part-qualified accountant (ACCA/CPA/ACA), or equivalent experience Salary is open to negotiation and based on experience.
