Castlethorn Construction is seeking an experienced and innovative BI & AI Architect to support the organisation’s Business Intelligence, Data, Reporting, Process Improvement, and Artificial Intelligence initiatives. This is a senior specialist role focused on helping the business make better decisions through trusted data, meaningful insights, efficient processes, and the adoption of modern AI technologies. The successful candidate will work closely with stakeholders across Finance, Commercial, Construction, Customer Care, HR, Procurement, and Senior Leadership to improve reporting, streamline business processes, and identify opportunities for automation and innovation.

The role combines elements of Business Intelligence, Data Architecture, Business Analysis, Process Improvement, Project Delivery, and AI Enablement. A key focus will be supporting the development and adoption of solutions using Microsoft Business Central, Navision, Dynamics 365, Microsoft Fabric, Power BI, Solver, Microsoft Copilot, ChatGPT, and the Power Platform. The BI & AI Architect is an individual contributor role and does not include direct people management responsibilities. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting projects, business initiatives, and process improvements across the organisation rather than managing staff. Success in this role will be achieved through collaboration, stakeholder engagement, business analysis, project coordination, process documentation, solution design, and technology adoption.

Key Responsibilities

Business Intelligence & Reporting

• Support the design, development, and enhancement of business intelligence and reporting solutions.

• Develop and maintain dashboards, reports, KPI scorecards and reporting packs.

• Support financial reporting, forecasting, budgeting, and management reporting through Business Central and Solver BI.

• Work with stakeholders to identify reporting requirements and develop data-driven insights.

• Support the development of self-service reporting capabilities.

• Promote reporting standards, consistency, and data accuracy across the organisation.

• Support the ongoing development of a centralised reporting and analytics framework.

Data & Analytics

• Support the design and maintenance of enterprise data models and reporting structures.

• Assist in integrating data from Business Central, Navision, Dynamics 365, SharePoint, construction systems, and third-party applications.

• Support the implementation and optimisation of BI tools

• Develop and maintain data pipelines and data transformation processes.

• Promote good data governance, data quality, and master data management practices.

• Support secure and reliable access to business information and reporting assets.

AI & Innovation

• Support the identification and implementation of practical AI use cases across the business.

• Promote the adoption of Microsoft Copilot, ChatGPT, and other approved AI technologies.

• Support the development of AI enabled reporting, forecasting, knowledge management, and automation solutions.

• Develop reusable prompts, templates, and AI-powered business solutions.

• Assist in establishing AI governance, compliance, and responsible AI practices.

• Measure and report on AI adoption and business benefits.

Business Analysis & Process Improvement

• Engage with stakeholders to understand business challenges and improvement opportunities.

• Gather and document business requirements.

• Analyse existing business processes and identify opportunities for efficiency improvements.

• Document current state and future state business processes.

• Develop process maps, workflow diagrams, operating procedures, user guides, and functional specifications.

• Support automation initiatives using Microsoft technologies and AI capabilities.

• Support testing, user acceptance, and solution deployment activities.

Project & Change Delivery

• Support the delivery of BI, Data, Digital Transformation, ERP, and AI-related projects.

• Manage project activities, milestones, dependencies, risks, and stakeholder communications.

• Coordinate with third-party vendors, consultants, and software suppliers.

• Support business readiness, training, adoption, and changing management activities.

• Maintain project documentation, solution designs, specification documentation, and implementation plans

• Track project outcomes and benefits of realisation.

Essential Experience & Skills

• Minimum 5 years’ experience in Business Intelligence, Data Analytics, Business Analysis, Data Architecture, Digital Transformation, or a related role.

• Hands-on experience with Microsoft Business Central.

• Experience working with Microsoft Dynamics 365

• Strong BI development experience including data modelling, and dashboard creation.

• Experience gathering business requirements and translating them into technical solutions.

• Experience documenting business processes, workflows, and operating procedures.

• Experience supporting technology or business transformation projects.

• Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills.

• Strong analytical, organisational, and problem-solving abilities.

• Ability to manage multiple priorities and projects simultaneously
