JOB PURPOSE
Reporting to the Financial Controller the Financial Accountant is responsible for the day to day management of the Accounting Function in Head Office
THE JOB
Responsible for end of year accounts and assist with the preparation of business / financial plans as required. Review of all procedures and controls regularly and work closely with the finance team to update where necessary Implementing and maintaining systems to support effective financial management including budgetary control Ensuring that the financial reports produced for the weekly & monthly management meetings are accurate. Manages team, creates environment of fairness, learning and accountability. Responsible for the Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable systems and overseeing the preparation of control accounts for debtors, bank and creditors. Developing and implementing controls to ensure invoices are not double paid and that each member in the team is sufficiently trained to cope with any given task on a daily basis Establishing financial procedures & consistent management reporting Overseeing the submission of monthly, quarterly and annual statutory returns Working closely with restaurants and the stores providing analysis and assistance where necessary Responsible for ensuring that all bank accounts are properly reconciled and balance sheet accounts are properly reconciled The Key point of contact for the external Auditors Having procedures in place to ensure that lodgments and credit card receipts are checked when they appear on the bank statement and that there is a procedure in place to ensure people are notified of any missing cash above €10. Dealing with queries at the request of other people in the Finance Team Flexible and open to using new systems and trialing new methodologies Other Ad Hoc Duties and projects which are for the benefit of the business
THE PERSON
Needs to have a good understanding of different accounting packages, particularly Navision Competent in the use of technology and continuous learning in best practice. Highly motivated with the ability to use own initiative Ability to work to deadlines Effective multi-tasker with the ability to focus on key priorities Attention to detail and sees tasks through to completion Flexibility to adapt to changing requirements of the role. Responsible for managing a team of 7 people. Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a similar role required. Qualified ACA/ACCA/CIMA.
