HealthCare Assistant

Lotus Care provides a range of respite, residential and support services to Children & Adults with intellectual disabilities in a homely and comfortable community setting. Role Overview

• Contract Type: Full-Time

• Working Week: Average of 42 hours a week, day shifts only

• Location of Work: Athlone

Role Responsibilities

• Facilitate and encourage decision-making, independence, and personal development.

• Provide support in daily living skills, including personal hygiene, health and appearance.

• Work in a person-centred manner to meet individual care plans and goals.

• Adhere to policies and procedures, standards, regulations, and codes of practice

• Administer and document the dispensation of prescribed medication.

• Document and report incidents and complaints involving staff, service owners or visitors.

• Work with MDT to achieve the goals of service owners.

Essential Requirements

• Minimum QQI Level 5 (8 modules) in Healthcare or equivalent

• Hold a full Irish driving license

• Prior experience in social care or healthcare

• Working knowledge of HIQA standards and regulations

• Excellent verbal and writing skills

• Garda Vetting/Police Clearance
