With best-in-class expertise and experience, underpinned by our technologically advanced facilities, we manufacture and retail a complete range of premium quality paving, walling, render and mortar products.
We are currently looking for a motivated and experienced HGV Mechanic for our garage based at our headquarters site in Clonee, Co. Meath. The successful candidate will be responsible for routine maintenance and repair of commercial and plant vehicles in an efficient and safety-driven manner.
Responsibilities
- Manage Garage activities at a high level of productivity whilst ensuring excellent cost control measures.
- Maintain and repair commercial vehicles to ensure that they are roadworthy and in good working order.
- Maintain and repair plant vehicles to ensure that they are in good working order.
- Diagnose breakdowns.
- Manage repair priorities in association with the Yard and Fleet Manager.
- Regularly update paperwork in relation to maintenance of commercial and plant vehicles.
- Liaise with the Health and Safety Manager to ensure that all statutory requirements with respect to Health & Safety and Environment are implemented & adhered to.
- Maintain the garage’s clean and orderly state.
- Oversee effective maintenance of plants and equipment, including management of spare parts inventory, and prepare preventative maintenance schedules with the maintenance team.
Skills Required
- 3 years’ experience working in a busy garage, ideally on commercial HGV vehicles
- Fully qualified mechanic
