Junior Buyer.

Hartley People Recruitment on behalf of a valued client is recruiting a Junior Buyer in Waterford.

This is an exciting opportunity for a proactive, confident individual to join a strong team in a well-established company. If you’re the type of person who is persistent, tenacious and can build strong relationships, but be firm when needed, then this would be a good fit for you.

The successful candidate will report directly to the supply chain manager and be responsible for sourcing, purchasing and customer service.

The Job

• Coordinate with suppliers on purchasing of materials and follow up on delivery
• Ensure inventory levels are optimised to ensure adequate supply of materials for production plan
• Support the supply chain team in meeting KPI’s
• Negotiate pricing with suppliers to obtain competitive prices
• Assist with demand management and order fulfilment
• Assist with material usage reconciliation
• Adhere to SOPs with customers
• Assist with inventory reduction and warehouse related projects
• Communicate with internal and external teams and customers
• Update and maintain company’s ERP system
• Support team to meet budget targets
• Escalate serious supply risks or repeated supplier failures where appropriate
• Other duties as assigned

The Person

• 1+ years’ experience in a similar role, ideally within supply chain
• Bachelor’s Degree in Business or related field (desirable)
• Qualification in Supply Chain (desirable)
• Proficiency in Excel, ERP and CRM systems (e.g. SAP, Oracle)
• Strong organisational skills with the ability to collaborate across departments and manage multiple conflicting demands
• Keen eye for detail with the ability to manage multiple priorities
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to manage relationships
• The ability to stay calm under pressure
