About the Role

FT Workforce is recruiting a Mechanical Fitter / Truck Fitter for a company based in Carlow.

This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified fitter or mechanic to join a team specialising in the assembly and fitting of equipment to trucks.

The ideal candidate will have completed an apprenticeship as a fitter or mechanic and be interested in developing their skills in mechanical fitting, hydraulic systems and truck equipment.

Previous experience with hydraulic systems is beneficial but not essential, as full training will be provided.

The company welcomes applications from recently qualified tradespeople as well as candidates with previous experience in a similar role.

Key Responsibilities

• Fit PTOs (power take-offs), hydraulic pumps and hydraulic oil tanks to trucks.
• Install wire watchers and weight cell systems.
• Carry out mechanical fitting and assembly work.
• Complete minor electrical work on trucks as required.
• Work as part of a team to produce a high-quality finished product.
• Ensure all work is completed accurately and to the required standard.
• Follow relevant health and safety procedures.

Requirements

• Ideally, a completed apprenticeship as a fitter or mechanic.
• A background in mechanical fitting, vehicle mechanics or a related trade.
• An interest in hydraulic systems and truck equipment.
• Good practical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong attention to detail and a commitment to quality workmanship.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
• Willingness to learn and develop new technical skills.

Full training will be provided, so extensive experience with hydraulic equipment is not essential.

• Salary of €35,500–€38,500 per annum, depending on experience.

Working Hours

• Monday to Thursday: 8:00 am – 4:30 pm.
• Friday: 8:00 am – 3:30 pm.
