Senior Estimator Location: Galway/Limerick/Dublin Job Type: Full-time | Permanent Salary: Competitive, DOE Reports To: Company Directors

Our client are currently seeking an experienced and commercially astute Senior Estimator to join their pre-construction team. This role is critical in securing profitable work through the accurate pricing of tenders, effective risk assessment, and collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Lead the preparation of detailed cost estimates and tender submissions for a range of construction projects (commercial, residential, healthcare, education, etc.)
• Analyse drawings, specifications, and other documentation to prepare accurate cost plans
• Manage the full tendering process from initial enquiry through to final submission
• Identify project risks and opportunities, incorporating them into pricing strategies
• Obtain and evaluate subcontractor and supplier quotations
• Liaise with clients, consultants, subcontractors, and internal teams to clarify scope and requirements
• Present tender reviews and recommendations to senior management
• Maintain and update cost databases and historical records
• Mentor and support junior estimators and contribute to team development
• Attend pre and post-tender meetings as required

Requirements

• Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related discipline
• 5-10 years’ experience in an estimating role
• Strong knowledge of the Irish construction market, including suppliers and subcontractors
• Proven track record in successfully delivering competitive tenders across multiple project types
• Excellent understanding of construction methods, materials, and building regulations in Ireland
• High level of commercial awareness and attention to detail
• Proficiency in estimating software
• Strong communication, negotiation, and organisational skills
• Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
