About this role
CREGG Recruitment are looking for a full time Warehouse/Yard Operative for our client, DIY and construction retailer in Galway City.
We are looking for enthusiastic individual who likes a good challenge and versatility in the role.
Job description – Warehouse/Yard Operative
- Assist all customers in the yard and warehouse in a timely and courteous manner.
- To effectively identify customers’ needs in order to maximise all sales opportunities.
- To check customer dockets prior to the vehicles being loaded and leaving the yard.
- To assist the Yard & Security Supervisor or designee in ensuring that all stock issues are effectively dealt with.
- To participate in cycle counting and annual stock takes, following all company procedures and maintaining accurate records as you go.
- To be efficient in quality and stock control standards, with any low-level stock to be reported in a timely manner to the Branch Manager to be reordered.
- To ensure the yard and warehouse is inviting to all customers at all times.
- Be fully trained and certified in the operation of a fork-truck, completing the daily fork truck checks, and reporting any faults to the Yard & Security Supervisor, or the Manager in their absence.
- Follow all company health and safety procedures, such as using the correct PPE, equipment and loading bays as appropriate.
- To attend all additional training and coaching as requested by the company.

Job requirements – Warehouse/Yard Operative
- Forklift Driver – Forklift Licence required
- Experience of using personal protective equipment
- Computer Literate, with the use of software packages such as Word, Excel
Contract type
- Full time (39 hours per week)
- Permanent/Long Term
