Data & AI Security Engineer – Dublin.

Data & AI Security Engineer (Hands-on) Location: Dublin (1 day on site) Rate: €350 - €450 Type: Contract Term: 12 months We’re hiring a hands-on Data & AI Security Engineer to own and continuously strengthen our Data and AI security posture. This is not a governance-only role—you’ll combine strong engineering capability with policy ownership and control implementation. You’ll define standards, implement and manage security controls, govern remediation processes, and support safe AI adoption across the organisation.

Some of the responsibilities include

Own the organisation’s Data & AI security posture, from standards through to implementation. Define and maintain data protection standards (classification, handling, sharing).

Implement and operate controls across

Data classification DLP Encryption Least privilege access Secure collaboration controls Lead control governance and remediation workflows (triage, prioritisation, tracking, closure). Partner with technical teams to embed controls into day-to-day delivery. Support safe AI adoption by assessing and mitigating AI security risks, including: Prompt injection Model inversion Model poisoning Evasion attacks Engage stakeholders across engineering and the business, including Data, Privacy, and Legal. We are looking for people with the below expeirence of above. 8+ years total experience, including 4+ years in data security / information protection / security engineering. Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft Purview.

Deep knowledge of

Data classification DLP Encryption Least privilege access Secure collaboration controls Understanding of AI security risks (prompt injection, model inversion, model poisoning, evasion attacks). Experience managing control governance and remediation workflows. Strong stakeholder engagement (technical and non-technical). Experience working with Data / Privacy / Legal stakeholders. Relevant certifications (e.g., SC-400, CISSP, or similar). Nice to have Experience with DSPM beyond M365 (multi-cloud / SaaS visibility). Knowledge of the EU AI Act.

Experience securing AI/ML platforms such as

Azure ML AWS SageMaker GCP Vertex AI Not a fit if You’re a pure GRC profile with no hands-on engineering. You’re a pure SOC / incident response profile without data protection ownership. You’re a general cloud security profile without Microsoft Purview expertise.
