Director – Data Modernisation & Transformation.

A senior leader is required to drive enterprise data modernisation, from strategic planning through implementation and adoption. The role focuses on transforming legacy data environments into scalable, secure and cloud-enabled platforms that support advanced analytics, automation and AI.

Combining technical leadership, programme delivery, client advisory and commercial management, the successful candidate will lead complex transformation initiatives, develop strong executive relationships and build high-performing teams to deliver measurable business outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead enterprise data modernisation programmes, including platform migration, data engineering and the adoption of cloud-native technologies.
• Define scalable data architectures, modern operating models and reusable data capabilities.
• Oversee the development of secure, governed and production-ready data platforms.
• Deliver analytics, reporting and AI-enabled solutions that improve business insight, operational efficiency and decision-making.
• Provide technical direction across data integration, platform design and transformation delivery.
• Build trusted relationships with senior stakeholders, aligning technology solutions with strategic business priorities.
• Identify commercial opportunities, lead proposals and support client account growth.
• Manage programme delivery, financial performance, resource allocation and client commitments.
• Develop strategic partnerships with technology providers and other industry stakeholders.
• Lead, mentor and develop multidisciplinary consulting teams, strengthening technical capability and delivery standards.
• Contribute to market development, service innovation and the evolution of data and AI offerings.

Experience and Qualifications

• Extensive experience delivering complex data transformation and modernisation programmes within consulting or professional services.
• A strong track record in enterprise technology delivery, solution architecture and data platform implementation.
• At least 15 years of experience in solution design and technical delivery, including five or more years leading data modernisation initiatives.
• Practical expertise in modern data platforms and technologies, such as Databricks and Snowflake.
• Strong understanding of data engineering, integration, databases, infrastructure and enterprise architecture.
• Experience leading distributed technical teams and managing complex, multi-stakeholder engagements.
• Demonstrated commercial capability in business development, client relationship management and financial oversight.
• A relevant degree in computer science, information systems or a related discipline, or equivalent professional experience. Knowledge of established data architecture frameworks is advantageous.
