Director – Data Transformation & AI.

A senior Industry leader is sought to shape and deliver enterprise-wide data transformation programmes, helping organisations modernise their data capabilities and establish secure, scalable foundations for analytics and artificial intelligence (AI).

The role combines strategic advisory, technical leadership, programme delivery and commercial development. It involves working with senior stakeholders to translate business challenges into practical technology solutions, lead multidisciplinary teams and deliver sustainable transformation across complex organisations and multiple industries.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the design, development and delivery of large-scale data transformation and modernisation programmes.
• Define data strategies, architectures and operating models that support integration, data quality, governance, migration and cloud adoption.
• Oversee the implementation of modern data platforms, engineering solutions, analytics, reporting and AI-enabled capabilities.
• Ensure data environments are secure, governed, scalable and fit for enterprise use.
• Advise senior business and technology leaders, translating complex technical concepts into clear business outcomes.
• Provide architectural direction and technical oversight, ensuring solutions align with enterprise standards and best practices.
• Lead client engagements, proposals and business development activities, identifying opportunities for growth.
• Manage client portfolios, programme budgets, resource allocation and delivery roadmaps.
• Build strong relationships with clients, technology partners and other stakeholders.
• Lead, mentor and develop technical teams, fostering collaboration and continuous professional development.

Experience and Qualifications

• Extensive experience in technology consulting, solution architecture and the delivery of complex, enterprise-scale data programmes.
• A strong track record of leading multi-year data transformation and cloud modernisation initiatives.
• Deep technical expertise across data architecture, integration, engineering and cloud platforms, such as AWS, Azure or Google Cloud.
• Familiarity with modern data technologies, including platforms such as Databricks and Snowflake.
• Experience developing data strategies and delivering transformation initiatives across multiple industry sectors.
• Strong understanding of data governance, security, advanced analytics and the integration of AI and machine learning.
• Demonstrated leadership of multidisciplinary teams, including distributed delivery models.
• Proven commercial capability in client relationship management, opportunity development, proposal leadership and financial oversight.
• Relevant degree in computer science, information systems or a related discipline, or equivalent professional experience. Knowledge of recognised architecture frameworks is advantageous.
