The role

You will take responsibility for the organisation’s financial position, reporting and controls. Working closely with the CEO and management team, you will:

  • Oversee accounting, bookkeeping, payroll and cash flow.
  • Lead budgeting and forecasting, prepare management accounts and coordinate year-end reporting.
  • Manage the audit process and ensure supporting records are complete.
  • Give the CEO and Board clear analysis of financial performance, costs, margins and income.

The position also carries responsibility for supporting Board and committee processes, including meeting papers, records of decisions and statutory governance duties.

You will oversee the organisation’s HR governance framework, covering employment documentation, policies, compliance, workforce reporting and formal employee relations procedures. Managers will retain responsibility for day-to-day people management within their teams.

You will also advise the CEO on workforce planning, organisational structure, remuneration and people-related risk.

You will hold a recognised accounting qualification, such as ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent, and have at least five years’ experience in a senior finance role.

Your experience should include ownership of budgets, financial reporting, audit preparation and financial controls. You will be comfortable presenting findings to senior management and Board members, explaining the implications and making clear recommendations.

The role requires sound judgement across governance, systems and compliance, together with a working knowledge of Irish employment law and HR controls. Additional training in HR or governance would be useful.
