Storm Recruitment have partnered with our client to recruit an Interim Procurement Manager for a 6-month contract based in South Wicklow. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced procurement professional to take ownership of a critical function during a key transition period, ensuring continuity of supply, cost control, compliance, and strategic alignment with business priorities. Salary: €55,000 – €80,000 DOE (pro rata) Contract: 6 Months Annual Leave: 24 days (pro rata)
Key Responsibilities
Take ownership of procurement activity across all purchasing areas, ensuring efficient processes, reliable supply, and strong supplier performance. Identify opportunities to optimise costs, enhance value, and strengthen commercial outcomes through effective sourcing strategies. Work closely with senior finance leadership to align purchasing decisions with financial controls and broader business goals. Act as the main point of contact for complex sourcing or supplier matters, providing guidance and resolution where required. Support improvements to procurement systems and planning tools to enhance efficiency and visibility. Ensure all purchasing activities meet relevant trade, regulatory, and compliance requirements. Review and manage supplier agreements to safeguard contractual obligations and minimise risk. Collaborate with internal stakeholders and external advisors on contract matters, audits, and compliance initiatives. Lead negotiations with key suppliers to secure competitive terms and continuity of supply. Oversee sourcing of indirect goods and services including professional services, technology, and facilities-related spend. Partner with operational teams to ensure purchasing plans align with production needs, forecasts, and inventory targets. Provide leadership, direction, and development support to members of the procurement team. Clarify responsibilities within the team and promote accountability and high performance. Manage transition of duties from temporary resources and address capability gaps where needed. Follow organisational policies and contribute to maintaining a safe, compliant, and professional working environment. Support quality, environmental, and governance standards in all procurement activities. Carry out additional duties appropriate to the level of the role as required. Candidate Requirements A third-level qualification in Supply Chain, Business, or a related discipline Demonstrated experience managing procurement across both direct and indirect spend categories. Background working within a manufacturing, production, or similarly regulated operational environment. Familiarity with trade compliance requirements, import/export processes, or customs regulations. Strong commercial capability with proven success negotiating supplier agreements and managing vendor relationships. Solid understanding of ERP platforms and structured procurement workflows. Excellent communication skills with the ability to build effective relationships across multiple stakeholder groups. A strategic mindset combined with flexibility, collaboration, and a solutions-focused approach. High level of professionalism, integrity, and commitment to governance and compliance standards.
