About this role

Our client, a respected semi-state organisation, is seeking a Cost Manager / Quantity Surveyor to join their commercial team based in Dublin 2, operating within a hybrid working model. This role will provide in-house cost management support across a diverse portfolio of residential developments, covering the full development lifecycle from early feasibility through to delivery and asset management. You will work closely with internal teams, consultants and delivery partners to ensure robust cost control and value for money. The ideal candidate will bring a minimum of 3 years' experience, strong analytical skills, commercial awareness and a proactive approach to cost and viability management.Responsibilities:Prepare Order of Magnitude Cost Estimates and Development Budgets to support early-stage viability and investment decision-makingCarry out viability and cost modelling analyses across multiple project types including low-mid density housing, high-density mixed-use schemes and adaptive reuseSupport the procurement of design teams and construction delivery partnersManage project development budgets and monitor post-contract expenditureReview and assess external QS reports and cost documents, liaising closely with appointed quantity surveying consultantsContribute to design team workshops, offering cost, value management, procurement and affordability adviceAssist Development Managers and Construction Managers in the day-to-day management of projectsMaintain and enhance cost databases covering construction and development costs across the portfolioSupport financial claims analyses and appraisal of construction and development soft costsRequirements:Minimum 3 years' demonstrable experience with a PQS practice, contractor or developerDegree or higher in Quantity SurveyingChartered or actively working towards chartership (SCSI APC support provided)Proven experience on residential or mixed-use development projectsStrong MS Excel skills with the ability to produce cost models, S-curves and detailed reportsExcellent communication and stakeholder management skills with the ability to work across internal and external teamsBenefits:Hybrid Working (2 days WFH)37 Hour Work WeekSalary Up to €80,000Pension (12%)Bonus up to 12%Permanent Role in a Semi-State OrganisationWhy Apply with Sonas?Expertise: Specialists in Engineering and Technical talent solutionsMarket Insights: Access to the best salaries, rates and benefits on offerDirect Connections: We ensure your CV gets noticed by the right hiring managersSeamless Process: One point of contact for applications, interviews and negotiationsTo apply, send your CV to [email protected] or apply via Indeed.
