A newly created role in a growing international business

An established global financial services firm is expanding its HR capability and is looking to appoint a Senior HR Generalist to support its growing workforce across Ireland and the UK.

This is a newly created position within an evolving HR function, offering the opportunity to work closely with HR Business Partners and business leaders across a range of functions. With significant headcount growth and further investment in HR, this is an excellent opportunity for an experienced generalist who enjoys being hands-on and making a tangible impact.

The Role

Reporting to the Head of HR for the region, you’ll provide broad HR support across the business, with a particular emphasis on employee relations, performance management and manager coaching.

Working alongside a team of HR Business Partners, you’ll partner closely with middle management to navigate complex people matters, deliver practical solutions and promote consistency across the employee life cycle.

Key responsibilities will include

  • Managing a broad range of employee relations matters, including performance concerns, probation management, complex absence cases and employee exits.
  • Coaching and guiding managers through sensitive employee situations, ensuring matters are handled fairly, consistently and in line with relevant employment legislation.
  • Advising on long- and short-term sickness absence, flexible working requests and other complex employee matters.
  • Partnering with HR Business Partners to deliver effective HR support across Ireland and the UK.
  • Building management capability by educating and advising stakeholders on HR policies, procedures and best practice.
  • Supporting the continued development of HR processes and ways of working as the function evolves.
  • Contributing to wider HR initiatives while maintaining a strong focus on day-to-day delivery.

What We’re Looking For

You’ll be an experienced HR generalist who is comfortable operating in a fast-paced, evolving environment and enjoys working closely with managers to resolve people-related challenges.

You’ll bring

  • A broad HR generalist background, with demonstrable strength in employee relations.
  • Experience managing complex ER cases, absence management, performance issues and sensitive employee exits.
  • A sound understanding of employment legislation and the ability to apply it in practical, commercial situations.
  • The confidence to influence, challenge and coach middle management, providing clear guidance through difficult people decisions.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills, sound judgement and the ability to handle sensitive matters with discretion.
  • A hands-on, adaptable approach and the ability to work collaboratively across a broad HR remit.

Experience within a large multinational organisation would be advantageous, particularly where you’ve worked in a dynamic environment with a diverse workforce and evolving HR processes.

Why Consider This Opportunity?

This is an opportunity to join a growing international business at an important stage in the development of its HR function. With further investment in HR and an expanding workforce, you’ll have the scope to make a genuine contribution, build strong relationships across the organisation and help shape how HR support is delivered.
