Service Engineer.

Hartley People Recruitment are seeking an experienced and customer-focused Service Engineer to join a busy field service team. The successful candidate will be responsible for servicing, maintaining and supporting a range of office equipment and technical products at customer sites (printers/copiers etc)

This position combines hands-on technical fault-finding with excellent customer service. You will play an important role in maintaining strong customer relationships, resolving technical issues efficiently and ensuring a consistently high standard of service.

Key Responsibilities

• Service, maintain and troubleshoot copiers and other office equipment.
• Carry out electro-mechanical fault-finding, repairs and preventative maintenance.
• Diagnose and resolve electrical, electronic and IT-related technical issues.
• Provide on-site technical support and product installations for customers.
• Respond to service calls efficiently and resolve customer issues to a high standard.
• Develop and maintain strong, professional relationships with customers.
• Deliver service in line with agreed customer SLAs and internal performance targets.
• Manage workload and time effectively across customer sites.
• Provide field-based technical support to customers and the wider sales team.
• Identify opportunities where additional products, services or technical solutions could benefit customers.
• Communicate potential business development opportunities to the Sales Team.
• Explain and demonstrate relevant digital imaging and business solutions to customers where appropriate.
• Handle customer complaints and technical problems professionally, escalating where required.
• Maintain company equipment and assets to the required standard.
• Ensure all work is carried out in accordance with company policies, Health & Safety requirements and relevant procedures.
• Work collaboratively with colleagues across different departments.
• Participate in meetings, training and ongoing professional development as required.

Candidate Requirements

• Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a Service Engineer, Field Service Engineer, Maintenance Technician or similar technical position.
• Previous experience in electro-mechanical fault-finding, servicing, maintenance and repair .
• Strong electrical, electronic and IT troubleshooting skills.
• Experience working with office equipment, copiers, printers, digital imaging solutions or similar technical products would be highly advantageous.
• Strong technical and problem-solving ability.
• Ability to work independently and manage a field-based workload effectively.
• Professional communication and interpersonal skills.
• Commercial awareness with the ability to recognise potential customer and business development opportunities.
• Willingness to undertake ongoing technical and product training.
• Full, clean driving licence is essential.

The successful candidate will be technically capable, solutions-focused and comfortable dealing directly with customers. You will be expected to take ownership of technical issues, provide an excellent customer experience and represent the business professionally while working at customer sites.
