Hartley People Recruitment in collaboration with our client is recruiting a Yard Manager in Waterford.
This role serves a vital function within the company as the successful candidate will oversee all trade related operations including transport, stock control, warehousing and customer service.
Because a large aspect of the role involves managing a team, the successful candidate will have experience leading and managing a team in a high-volume retail space with 5+ years of relevant experience being highly desirable.
The Job
- Direct supervision of yard team, ensuring tasks are delegated and communicated effectively
- Provide feedback and support to team members
- Ensure team’s roster, breaks and holidays are managed effectively
- Monitor changes to business and adapt as needed
- Champion the company’s customer service standards and lead by example
- Ensure company’s cleanliness and hygiene standards are being adhered to
- Assist and train yard team to deliver exceptional customer service
- Assist with instore promotions, sales day and trade shows
- Ensure Health and Safety standards are being adhered to by you and team
- Assist with stock takes throughout the year
- Work closely with other departments in the store to ensure operations are running smoothly
- Review and make recommendations for product and process improvement
- Liaise with other department managers to improve company performance and procedures
- Other ad hoc duties as required
The Person
- 5 years relevant experience (highly desirable)
- Experience within construction or logistics industry (highly desirable)
- Forklift licence (highly desirable)
- Very strong communication skills
- Excellent coaching and leadership skills
- Computer literate
- Strong attention to detail with excellent organisational skills and commercial awareness
