What happens to your CV, answered honestly
What happens after you drop your CV in?
It runs through the Irish CV check and the result is yours on screen. It also builds your profile, which joins the talent pool that licensed agencies recruiting for this kind of work search. An agency can unlock your profile there and contact you directly. Being found is not a job offer, and nothing about a permit is decided here.
Who sees my profile, and can I have it removed?
Licensed recruitment agencies using the talent pool see it without your name or contact details until one of them unlocks it, at which point that agency gets your name and email so it can reach you. Nothing is published publicly and nothing is sold. You can ask us to remove your profile at any time and we will.
Does IrishTalents place me, or does the agency?
The agency does. IrishTalents is not a licensed employment agency, does not shortlist, and does not put anyone forward to an employer. The agencies advertising on this page do that work, under their WRC licence. What we do is put your profile where they are looking and show you the official permit record behind the sector.
What qualifications do Irish garages ask a mechanic for?
Usually a recognised motor mechanics qualification or a completed apprenticeship, the vehicle classes you have worked on, diagnostic equipment you know, and whether you hold a driving licence. Employers working on commercial fleets also ask about heavy vehicle experience specifically.
Is my qualification from outside the EU recognised in Ireland?
Ireland has a recognition process for foreign qualifications through NARIC Ireland, and an employer may also run its own trade test. Recognition is separate from a permit decision and from a job offer. Check NARIC before you plan a move; this page cannot tell you how your qualification will be read.
Is this work eligible for an employment permit?
The permit figures on this page are records of permits already issued across the transport sector. They are not a decision about you. Duties, salary, qualifications, the employer and the permit route all decide the outcome, and only the Department of Enterprise, Trade and Employment can determine it.
