Requirements of the Cafe Restaurant Manager

• Previous cafe, restaurant, hospitality or catering management experience
• Confidence managing high-volume food service and busy trading periods
• Strong leadership skills, including team training, coaching and roster planning
• Commercial awareness across labour costs, stock control, waste and margins
• Sound knowledge of HACCP, food safety and health and safety requirements
• A calm, organised and customer-focused approach suited to a healthcare environment

Responsibilities of the Cafe Restaurant Manager

• Manage the daily cafe and restaurant operation, ensuring smooth and efficient service
• Lead, motivate, coach and develop the front-of-house team
• Maintain consistently high standards of customer service, hygiene and presentation
• Prepare team rotas and manage labour costs effectively
• Oversee stock control, ordering, deliveries and waste reduction
• Resolve on-site queries and build positive relationships with key stakeholders
• Ensure full compliance with HACCP, food safety and health and safety procedures, maintaining accurate records
• Identify practical service and merchandising improvements that enhance the customer experience
