Duty Manager / Trainee Manager.

Brown Oak Recruitment is recruiting a Duty Manager / Trainee Manager for a supermarket in Dungarvan. This junior management role could suit a retail supervisor, team leader or senior assistant with relevant experience who is ready to take responsibility for assigned shifts.

Employment type: Full-time, on site

What you will be doing

• Support the daily running of the supermarket and help keep the shop floor tidy
• Take responsibility for assigned shifts and follow opening and closing procedures
• Help colleagues understand the day's priorities and plan practical store tasks
• Support stock availability, replenishment, presentation and customer service
• Follow the store's cash handling, food safety, health and safety, and security procedures
• Deal with routine customer or store issues, communicating clearly and asking for support when needed
• Work alongside colleagues and contribute to clear communication when shifts change

What we are looking for

• Relevant retail experience; supermarket, grocery or convenience experience is preferred
• Examples of taking responsibility, such as supervising a team, holding keys, opening or closing a store, completing cash checks or directing work during a busy shift
• A reliable, practical approach, confidence dealing with customers and willingness to learn
• A credible starting point for a junior management role; a fixed number of years in formal management is not required
• Availability for 40 to 42 hours per week across five days over seven, including weekends and shared opening and closing duties
• A practical way to travel to Dungarvan for the actual opening and closing shifts

Salary and benefits

€35,000 a year

• €35,000 annual salary
• 40 to 42 hours per week across five days over seven
• Mainly 8am to 5pm shifts, with early starts and later finishes shared across the management team
