The Role The are seeking an experienced Financial Controller to take ownership of the finance function and act as a key business partner to the Managing Director and senior leadership team. This is a hands-on, all-encompassing role suited to someone who thrives in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment and wants genuine influence over the direction of the business. Key Responsibilities Own the day-to-day management of the finance function, including month-end close, management accounts, and statutory reporting Prepare budgets, forecasts, and cash flow projections; monitor performance against targets Provide commercial and financial insight to support pricing, margin analysis, and retailer negotiations Manage relationships with banks, auditors, tax advisors, and other external stakeholders Oversee payroll, credit control, accounts payable/receivable, and general ledger functions Ensure compliance with statutory, tax (VAT, Corporation Tax, Revenue), and regulatory requirements Support international expansion with financial oversight across multiple markets/currencies Implement and improve financial controls, systems, and processes as the business scales Contribute to strategic decision-making as a trusted advisor to the MD and Group CFO Candidate Profile Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent) 5+ years' post-qualification experience, ideally within FMCG, food/beverage, or another fast-moving commercial sector Strong technical accounting knowledge combined with commercial acumen Experience working in an SME or owner-managed business is a strong advantage Proficient in accounting/ERP systems and advanced Excel Excellent communication skills, comfortable operating at senior/board level Self-starter who is comfortable being hands-on as well as strategic How to Apply?
