The Role The are seeking an experienced Financial Controller to take ownership of the finance function and act as a key business partner to the Managing Director and senior leadership team. This is a hands-on, all-encompassing role suited to someone who thrives in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment and wants genuine influence over the direction of the business. Key Responsibilities

• Own the day-to-day management of the finance function, including month-end close, management accounts, and statutory reporting
• Prepare budgets, forecasts, and cash flow projections; monitor performance against targets
• Provide commercial and financial insight to support pricing, margin analysis, and retailer negotiations
• Manage relationships with banks, auditors, tax advisors, and other external stakeholders
• Oversee payroll, credit control, accounts payable/receivable, and general ledger functions
• Ensure compliance with statutory, tax (VAT, Corporation Tax, Revenue), and regulatory requirements
• Support international expansion with financial oversight across multiple markets/currencies
• Implement and improve financial controls, systems, and processes as the business scales
• Contribute to strategic decision-making as a trusted advisor to the MD and Group CFO

Candidate Profile

• Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent)
• 5+ years' post-qualification experience, ideally within FMCG, food/beverage, or another fast-moving commercial sector
• Strong technical accounting knowledge combined with commercial acumen
• Experience working in an SME or owner-managed business is a strong advantage
• Proficient in accounting/ERP systems and advanced Excel
• Excellent communication skills, comfortable operating at senior/board level
• Self-starter who is comfortable being hands-on as well as strategic
