Job Title: Healthcare Assistant (HCA) Location: Intellectual Disability (ID) Services, Co. Mayo

Pay Rates: €15 – €17 per hour, with additional premium rates available depending on shifts worked.

Position Overview

We are currently recruiting Healthcare Assistants for Intellectual Disability (ID) services across Co. Mayo. This is an excellent opportunity for compassionate and dedicated HCAs who are passionate about supporting individuals with intellectual disabilities to live fulfilling, independent, and person-centred lives.

Multiple ad-hoc shifts are available on a weekly basis across a variety of residential and community settings throughout the county.

Key Responsibilities

• Support service users with activities of daily living, including personal care and mobility assistance
• Promote independence, dignity, and person-centred care at all times
• Assist with social, recreational, and community-based activities
• Monitor and report any changes in service users’ health or wellbeing
• Maintain accurate documentation and follow care plans
• Work collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team to ensure the highest standard of care

Requirements

• Minimum QQI Level 5 modules required:
• Care Skills
• Care Support
• Plus one of the following: Safety & Health at Work or Communications
• Previous experience working in an Irish healthcare facility is essential
• Previous experience in Intellectual Disability (ID) services is highly desirable
• A full, clean driver’s licence is essential , as shifts are available across multiple locations throughout Co. Mayo
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Compassionate, reliable, and professional approach to care
• Flexibility to work a variety of shifts, including days, nights, weekends, and sleepover shifts where applicable
