Guides for the move, and a company shortlist
A large set of new guides on permits, CVs, interviews and relocation, a software engineer sponsorship page, a company shortlist built from your CV, and smoother sign-up.

In April we filled the IrishTalents blog with practical guides for moving to Ireland and added the first tools that use your CV to point you at employers.
Guides for every stage of the move
We published a long run of guides on the IrishTalents blog. On permits, there was a comparison of the General and Critical Skills employment permits, a complete guide to the Critical Skills permit, a step-by-step walk through the work permit process and a guide to bringing your family to Ireland. For the job search itself, we wrote about writing a CV for Irish employers, LinkedIn profiles, job interviews, salary negotiation and the most common work visa mistakes.
Some guides are written for a particular group, such as Indian professionals, Nigerian professionals, nurses and people in construction. Others help with life after the offer, from the cost of living and choosing between Dublin, Cork and Galway to Irish workplace culture and what happens after your visa is approved. Like everything on the site, these guides are general information, so check the official sources before you act on them.
A page for software engineers
Software engineers got their own page about working in Ireland with an employment permit, covering the steps of the permit process, typical salaries and some of the technology employers hiring there. It sat next to a salary guide for visa-sponsored roles, with salary ranges by sector, and a longer guide for software developers.
A company shortlist built from your CV
The companies directory gained a Recommended view. Add your CV and we show the employers with a permit history that fit your background best, with a preview of the top five and a button to save any company you want to follow. If you are not signed in yet, the same button takes you through a free sign-up and brings you back to your shortlist.
Smaller things
- Sign-up started taking you straight to the right setup depending on where you started, so someone arriving from a recruiter page no longer had to pick a profile type first, and anyone we guessed wrong for could still switch.
- We fixed several sign-in problems, including a loop that kept sending new users back to onboarding when they tried to open a company page.
- Tables in blog posts started displaying properly, including on small screens.
- Company profiles could be shared by email.
