February 2026
Candidate accounts and a free visa check
A public visa check, candidate accounts with onboarding, CV upload with an Irish CV review, a candidate home page and a feedback button.

In February we opened accounts for candidates, with a set of tools to go with them.
Check which permit route your role may point to
We opened the visa check to anyone, with or without a job offer. You entered your occupation and years of experience, and could add a salary, a contract length or your CV for a more complete picture. The result showed which Irish employment permit route your details might point to under the 2026 rules. It is information to help you plan and does not replace advice from the Department of Enterprise or an immigration professional.
Set up your candidate profile
Signing up started taking candidates through a short onboarding of their own. It asked about your nationality, where you lived, whether you needed sponsorship, when you could start, your education and the salary range you expected. If your profession is regulated in Ireland, it also asked how far along your professional registration was.
Upload your CV and see how it reads in Ireland
You could upload your CV as a PDF or Word file of up to 5MB. We read it to help fill in your profile and ran an Irish CV check that pointed out what Irish employers usually do not expect to see, such as a photo, your age or marital status, along with notes on length and English style.
Start from your own home page
Signed-in candidates got a home page that suggested the next thing to do, such as running the visa check or uploading a CV. It also listed the companies you saved, with a link to the board where you track your applications.
Smaller things
- Signed-in users got a feedback button in the header to tell us what to improve on the page they were on.
- Pages across the site were reworked to fit phone screens better.
- We fixed a loop that could send people back to onboarding after they had already finished it.
