September 2026
Jobs that fit you, and the whole job advert
Recommended jobs after onboarding, full job descriptions, company vacancies on every profile, the Critical Skills list on one page, pages in Portuguese, and a quicker way to fill in your profile.

Here is what changed on IrishTalents in September for people looking for work in Ireland.
Jobs picked for you, right after you sign up
When you finish onboarding, we now look at your experience and the roles you want, and put together a list of open jobs that fit. You find them under Recommended for me in your workspace, next to All and Saved.
We rebuilt the matching behind it this month. It now searches every live job instead of only the newest ones, it takes seniority into account, so ten years of experience no longer brings back graduate schemes, and it removes duplicate adverts. Each suggestion is then checked by an AI model that reads your profile and the job side by side, and drops the ones that do not fit.
The Agencies tab also gained a Recommended for me view, with the recruitment agencies advertising the roles that fit you.
Write your job title the way you say it
You can now type your job title in your own words, like "Site Manager" or "Accounts Assistant". Behind the scenes we match it to the official occupation code that Irish employment permits use, so the rest of the site knows what you do without asking you to pick from a list of codes.
Your CV fills in the gaps
If your profile has empty fields that your CV already answers, such as your education, field of study or English level, we now read the CV you uploaded and fill them in for you. You can always change what we filled in from your profile.
Better job pages
- Full descriptions. Job pages now show the whole advert, with proper headings and lists instead of one block of text, where before some showed only the first paragraph.
- Clearer sponsorship reading. We read the sponsorship wording in each advert more carefully. Phrases like "this role does not offer sponsorship" and "sponsorship available for the right candidate" are now told apart much more reliably, and standard background check wording no longer gets mistaken for a refusal.
- Filters that work. The full time, part time and contract filters now read the contract type correctly, whatever wording the advert used.
There are 6,880 live jobs on IrishTalents Jobs as we write this.
Every company profile shows its own vacancies
Company pages now list the jobs that company is advertising on its own careers site, with a filter to see only that employer's roles. Combined with the permit history already on each profile, you can see in one place whether a company has sponsored before and whether it is hiring now. The company directory is now in the main menu.
The Critical Skills list, in plain English
The official Critical Skills Occupations List is a long document full of codes. We published the whole list on one page, grouped into areas you can scan for your own job, with the official wording and a link to each occupation code. We also checked every occupation list on the site against the versions the Department of Enterprise publishes and corrected the ones that had drifted. It is information, not legal advice, so always confirm the details with the Department before you apply.
Trade pages
We added pages for six trades that Irish employers hire from abroad: welders, vehicle mechanics, HGV drivers, electricians, carpenters and chefs. Each page lists the jobs open now and lets you send us your CV. We also published a guide to what a trade test involves, written with an agency that runs them every week.
Pages in Portuguese
IrishTalents now has pages in Portuguese, starting with the questions Brazilian professionals ask most: work visas for Ireland, the Critical Skills list, minimum salaries and companies with a permit history.
Connect IrishTalents to your AI assistant
If you use Claude or ChatGPT, you can now connect them to your IrishTalents account from Connect to AI. Then you can ask things like "which companies in Cork have hired software engineers on permits?" or "what's in my tracker?" in a normal chat, and the assistant answers with our data. Before anything connects, a consent screen shows exactly what the assistant will be allowed to read.
Smaller things
- Pages load faster on mobile, especially the first visit.
- The support chat now loads only after you allow it in the cookie notice.
- Schools and universities can follow permit alerts and contact us as an institution.
- Jobs you find in Discovery can be saved straight into your application tracker.
What's next
The biggest piece of work ahead is more jobs on the portal. Today our jobs come from recruitment agencies and from employers' own careers pages, and we are working on showing open roles for many more of the employers with an Irish permit history. We are also building a way for the agencies we work with to post their roles directly from their workspace.
For candidates, we are also working on taking the languages you speak into account when we recommend jobs, and on emailing you when a new job matches your profile.
